What to check
- File size
- Use both the stated minimum and maximum
- Dimensions
- Use your application’s required dimensions
- Format
- Use the format named by the form
Actual size and quality depend on your image. Settings do not certify acceptance by another service.
How to use this guidance
- 01
Choose your original
Select an image and keep a copy. Animated GIF input produces a still image.
- 02
Set a maximum and dimensions
Enter the destination’s requirements. Custom dimensions remain fixed even when a very small cap cannot be reached.
- 03
Inspect the output
Check actual bytes, pixels and readability. A preset does not guarantee third-party acceptance.
Write down the file range, width, height, permitted format, photo date and live-camera requirements. A file below the minimum may fail just as an oversized file can. Do not reuse a specification from another exam or year.
Crop empty signature margins without cutting strokes. Check framing before resizing a portrait; stretching changes proportions. Keep the original so you can make a different crop or get a new scan.
DPI converts physical dimensions to pixels in this tool. It does not embed the selected print-DPI tag. Enter pixels directly when your form specifies pixels.
After processing, check actual bytes and dimensions, not just the target you typed. Custom dimensions stay fixed; an unusually small cap can remain unmet. Follow the portal’s feedback, and leave time before a deadline.
An authority may require live capture or an unaltered original. This tool cannot perform its identity verification or certify background, head position, lighting and all other photo requirements.
Common questions
Does a target guarantee an exact file size?
No. The target is a requested maximum. Inspect the actual bytes, dimensions and visual quality; a very small target can remain unmet.
Will compression keep every detail?
JPEG and WebP can lose detail. PNG uses lossless encoding, but resizing changes pixels. Keep your original and compare the preview.
Does this tool set print DPI metadata?
DPI converts centimeters or inches to pixels. This browser export does not write your chosen print-DPI tag. Check pixel dimensions and use print software for physical print settings.
